No two days at work look the same for Whitney (Moreau) Raymond ’09, M.B.A. ’10. One day, she could be posting on social media and drafting a newsletter, and the next day she could be flying to the UK to attend a travel trade show to talk about Maine.
As account supervisor for Marshall Communications, an award-winning public relations and marketing firm, Whitney is responsible for the administration of integrated marketing and communication campaigns for clients, including strategic planning, copywriting, branding, event planning, PR, marketing, social media strategies, and market research efforts.
One of its clients, the Maine Office of Tourism, has given Whitney many opportunities to travel – something she is so grateful for. She’s travelled from Berlin, Germany, and Paris to the Red Rocks in Denver, Stonehenge, and Sydney, Australia.
“I have been able to do a lot of promoting the state I love so much, both overseas and across the country at Maine’s target markets’ travel trade shows and through onsite visits to tour operators and travel agents (which are still widely used in other international markets). This is a highlight of my work at Marshall.”
Whitney, a Maine native, stayed and worked in Maine after going to college here because she loves building her home state and community. Like many Thomas College alumni, Whitney directly contributes to growing the Maine economy by encouraging people to visit this beautiful state.
Whitney joined Marshall Communications in 2011 as an account coordinator, supporting other agency account executives and staff, and within a year, she moved up to an account executive position. In 2017, she was promoted to account supervisor.
Whitney has been able to move up because of her hard work and determination and also because of the skills she gained here as a Thomas College student. Whitney studied Marketing Management as an undergraduate student and then moved right into the Accelerated MBA program afterwards.

“The Accelerated program was one of best things I’ve done for myself. I still can’t believe I received my MBA in one year,” she said. “Thomas really solidified who I was and what I wanted to do in my career.”
Her time at Thomas also connected her with some great alumni who she works with now – Nancy Marshall M.B.A. ’94, leader and agency owner, and newest intern-turned-employee, Emma Dimock ’19. She also works with alumnus Troy Munford ’84, of Sunday River, who has given her so much advice over the years, including teaming up at the nation’s largest international travel trade show.
Whitney is a proud alumna because of Thomas College’s continuation of growth with progressive programs and amazing people.
“I just love the supportive community Thomas stands for,” she said. “Thank you to the Thomas community, professors, and the leadership team—just keep doing what you’re doing because it’s amazing stuff.”
