Alumna Karla Brannen, CPA ’06, M.B.A. ’06 Named One of the 2018 Women to Watch Web Director | December 20, 2018

Karla Brannen was recently named as one of the recipients of the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants’ 2018 Women to Watch Award. Karla is a tax manager at Albin, Randall & Bennett in Portland.

“I am honored to be considered an emerging leader in the accounting profession,” said Karla.

She got her start in Accounting by studying the subject at Thomas College, earning her MBA, involvement in the Accounting Society and as its President for two years.

Thomas prepared me for my career with the course work that I did, but also helped me start my career with the internship I completed. I was asked to return the following year, even though I was not finished with school. I got a job offer before I had graduated.

Now, Karla is proud of her career and loves working with her team at ARB. She’s involved with the profession in many ways through MECPA and AICPA Council, promoting the profession in high schools and colleges around the state.
