Congratulations to Jasmine Turner ’16 who recently accepted a position with Summit Utilities in the Business Development Department, all thanks to connections she made while at Thomas. As a student Jasmine took a marketing internship with Summit Utilities during the summer going into her senior year.
“I had such a wonderful experience working under my supervisor, Skye Austin, that we continued to stay in touch. A few months ago, when I heard there was an opening on her team the choice was a simple one! The team here is just as supportive as I remember and we have some big and exciting projects in the works for 2020,” says Jasmine.
Although Jasmine has been busy with her new job, she still makes time to get involved with the Thomas community. Jasmine is a volunteer with the College’s Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) program. Her time volunteering all started when she was a student.
“I loved volunteering at events like Homecoming and Family Weekend and Move-In Day. I remember how exciting it was to meet new and prospective students and share my experiences. It meant so much to me when a new student would share that our conversation helped support their decision to become a Terrier! I volunteer now as an alumna for the same reasons I did as a student – I am proud to be a part of the Thomas community and I want to share that with others.”
Jasmine is a great example of how the College can open many doors for students and alums. She clearly takes pride in being a Terrier and encourages others to be a part of this community.
“At Thomas, you really are more than a number, and the connections you will make with your classmates, and the amazing faculty and staff will last you a lifetime. Once a Terrier always a Terrier,” says Jasmine.
