Only five years after graduating from Thomas College, Josh Tainter ’13 has already achieved the position of Assistant Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer at Camden National Bank. He is extremely excited and proud of this recent promotion.
At Thomas, Josh studied finance and graduated with his Bachelor’s in 2013.
Before this promotion, he worked in banking for seven years – most recently as Commercial Portfolio Manager at Camden National Bank and before that, a Credit Analyst for Auburn Savings Bank.
In his new role, Josh will handle all commercial banking for Central Maine, as well as working with his current and new Camden National Bank customers.
Josh grew up in the small town of Livermore Falls, where he spent most of his time outdoors.
Josh said he found Thomas by accident.
“I took a tour with my then-girlfriend (now wife) and her best friend so we could miss some school,” he said. “We all ended up attending and graduating from Thomas in 2013.”
Josh said he’s glad to have found a home here for four years.
“I met some of my closest friends at Thomas,” he said. “The education I received from Thomas was second to none and the professors did a phenomenal job in preparing students for the real-life work world.”
Josh says he is proud to be a Thomas College alumnus.
“Seeing alumni before me and what they have done with their professional careers and seeing some of my fellow classmates doing so well (starting a career, buying a home, starting a family) is very rewarding,” he said.
When Josh was in college, he had no idea where he would be five years after graduation.
“I guess I would have to say, I think I am far above where I thought I would be.”
