Balancing Sports and Academics Web Director | September 18, 2018

Alexis Bowman ’21 chose Thomas College because she knew she would be challenged academically here.

Alexis is a Kiest-Morgan Scholar, a three-year program at Thomas, and is studying Sport Management. She plans to come back for a fourth year to earn an MBA.

“Being a part of the three-year program has been a great experience so far,” said Alexis. “I find that I am in a lot of classes with students who have similar goals as I do, and they push themselves to produce the best work possible.”

She said she chose to be a part of this program (of getting both her bachelor’s and master’s in four years) because it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Alexis is also a field hockey player. She’s loves being a part of a tight knit group; it has made the college transition easier.

“Balancing my academics and field hockey definitely takes some planning, but I am part of a team where everyone strives to excel academically; it helps us focus on what matters,” she said.

As a first-generation student, Alexis is so happy to have the opportunity to go to college.

“I love Thomas College so far,” said the first-year student. “The professors are friendly, the athletic program is a blast to be a part of, and everyone is so nice.”
