The Thomas College Dance Team will be hosting their first performance of the school year at Homecoming and Family Weekend. The show will be on Saturday, October 13th at 2 p.m. in the Ayotte Auditorium at Thomas College.
Styles of dance include contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and tap.
The students will demonstrate the routines they have learned so far to give the audience a sneak peek at the finished routines that will be performed at their annual showcase in April.
Choreography from dance team director, Michelle Casavant, and student instructors will be featured in the upcoming performance.
“It’s an opportunity to grow as leaders and push our creative boundaries. It’s amazing to be able to see a vision in your head come to life through motion with your friends,” said dance team student instructor and team member Megan Ruby ‘18.
Ruby had never taken dance lessons until coming to Thomas, but with a history of cheering, she was able to easily pick up choreography. This year she is teaching hip-hop for the first time.
“I’m excited to perform with this new group of girls to get to know them better and have fun,” said Kayleigh Clinch ‘18, Thomas College student and member of the dance team. “We have been putting in a lot of hard work since school started and I’m excited to show people what we have accomplished.”
