Finding the Right Fit at Thomas College Web Director | November 5, 2018

Mackenzie Driscoll ’22 was first introduced to Thomas College when she was invited to visit the school by the head Lacrosse coach.

“I fell in love with the campus, the people, and everything Thomas had to offer,” said Mackenzie. “There was no question where I would be attending school after that. I just knew this was the school I would be happiest at.”

Mackenzie is a first-year Criminal Justice major at Thomas. She has been passionate about this field since she was ten years old. Her dream job is to be a behavioral analyst with the FBI.

Mackenzie is also working to earn her bachelor’s degree in three years instead of four as part of the Kiest-Morgan Scholar Program.

“I think it is a tremendous honor to be invited into such a prestigious academic program,” she said. “It highlights all the work I put in to getting where I am today, and I think it will help me achieve any goals I have for the future.”

When Mackenzie is not studying, she is very involved on campus. She will be playing lacrosse in the spring, and right now, she plays intramural ultimate frisbee and flag football. She is also a member of the yearbook committee, Special Olympics Club, and Student Senate.

“I want to be as involved in the community as I can be because I am determined to make these years the best ones of my life, and I want to make an impact here,” said Mackenzie. “I love being a part of so many activities because it allows me to meet so many different people and really make Thomas my home.”

Mackenzie says Thomas College is definitely the right fit for her.

“I truly feel like I have found where I belong and where I can grow and finally be the person I have wanted to be,” she said. “Everyone here is so nice, genuine, and admirable in their own way, and I am so happy I get to be a part of this amazing community.”

Mackenzie says being at Thomas has been a great change in her life as she felt lost for a while.

“Being here has shown me that good things really do come to those who wait and to those who work hard for what they want and believe in,” said Mackenzie. “It took a lot for me to admit to myself and my family and friends back home that I did not feel right about who I was and that I was being held back from my true potential.”

“But ever since I did, I have not looked back because that decision led me to Thomas, and this is the happiest I have ever been in my whole life.”
