This past weekend, we held our 6th annual and first-ever virtual Thomas Cup 2021 event! More than 200 high school students participated in several challenges – innovation, robotics, cyber defense, esports and crime scene investigation. For the first time, Thomas College offered each member of the winning team up to $10,000 in scholarships. The winner – announced on Saturday – was the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Congrats again to MSSM!

We were so impressed by all the students who competed. They demonstrated exceptional teamwork, attention to detail, critical thinking, and perseverance throughout the competition. Given that the scores were so close (within 0.25 points), we felt strongly that the top three teams needed to be recognized. We are excited to announce that our second and third place winners will also be receiving academic scholarships for their hard work!
- Dexter High School – each student will win up to $8,000 (or $2,000 per year) to attend Thomas College.
- Yarmouth High School – each student will up to $6,000 (or $1,500 per year) to attend Thomas College.

Again, congrats to all! We are so proud for all the hard work of these incredible high school students.
And thanks to the support of our incredible sponsors this event was FREE for high school students. Thank you to our sponsors: Central Maine Power, Unum, AT&T, and WEX. Additional, in-kind support is being provided by Microsoft, Project>Login, and Educate Maine.
