Meet Incoming Student: Destinee White Web Director | July 9, 2019

Destinee White ’23, from Turner, ME, is attending Thomas College this fall to study elementary education and be a member of the track and field team.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Thomas community this fall because I know I’m welcomed and wanted. Those are both things that I value very much,” said Destinee.

Destinee said she chose Thomas College because she felt comfortable when she first stepped on campus.

“I felt as though I was at home. The atmosphere was amazing, and everybody was so welcoming and helpful,” said Destinee. “I’m super excited to be a part of the track and field team and the community at Thomas.”

Destinee already has a passion for education having interned in a first-grade classroom during her senior year of high school.

“I think Thomas will be the right fit for me because not only is it a smaller campus and class sizes, but because it’s not in a city where I’d feel overwhelmed and students are very much cared about at Thomas,” she said.

Destinee is very proud to be attending Thomas College this fall.

“I’ve worked very hard academically and otherwise to get to Thomas College and as a first-generation college student I’ve overcome a lot of obstacles to get here,” she said. “I’m excited to take on a chapter of my life that no one else in my family has experienced and make the best of it.”
