Meet Incoming Student: Hayden Caldwell ‘22 Web Director | June 24, 2019

Hayden Caldwell ‘22 chose to attend Thomas College because of its nationally ranked sports management program and the overall feel he gets when visiting campus.

“Thomas is a great fit for me and my future,” he said.

Hayden graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine on June 2.

At MCI, Hayden was an officer for National Honors Society, President of the Philanthropy Council, Student Leadership Committee, and Kindess Krew. He played varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball – serving as captain for all teams. He also participated in chorus for three years and vocal jazz for two.

During his senior year of high school, Hayden was connected with Thomas College’s Assistant Athletic Director of Communications and Thomas alumnus Cameron Creamer ‘15 M.B.A. ‘16 for a sports information internship.

“I could not have asked for a better opportunity to have during my senior year of high school,” said Hayden. “I was able to come in almost every-other day for the entire school year to work in the office, to setup the game fields, print off tournament passes, etc. A lot of my time came from going to the games throughout the year and helping with all of the game management.”

In the fall, Hayden plans to study sports management, so he was very excited about his opportunity to work with Cameron.

“It was an amazing opportunity for me to get more familiar with Thomas, and already get my feet wet in the profession I want to pursue in my future,” said Hayden. “I am really excited to continue to work with Cam this fall. We have a new stat program that we are going to be learning, and just being able to surround myself with the world of sports is just amazing to me.”

Hayden is excited to begin his next phase in life at Thomas College in the fall.

“I am just ready to take that next step to further my education, but always prepare for the profession that I dreamed about having ever since I was young,” he said. “After many campus visits and prospect camps for baseball at other schools, I could not find a better fit for me than Thomas.”
