Alumna and Head Softball Coach Ali Kriegel ’11 and her mom Pam Kriegel P’11 teamed up this fall to support Thomas College’s fundraising efforts. Says Ali, “I think it’s so important to give back in any way I can. Thomas has given me so much, from an amazing college experience and an opportunity to be a student-athlete to my current role as a coach.” Ali is also the Assistant Field Hockey Coach.
Adds Pam, “Thomas College was the perfect fit for Ali. She received a great education. That’s my biggest inspiration for volunteering.”
The Kriegels were recruited as fundraising volunteers because of that positive spirit and their many connections to the Thomas College experience. “So far, I’ve been to two committee meetings and had the chance to meet with a donor as well,” Ali notes. “It has been exciting and interesting to represent the College in this new and different way. And I’ve enjoyed being part of this with my mom!”
“We are a family that has always been involved with athletics since Ali started playing ice hockey at age 5,” notes Pam. “We believe participating in extracurricular activities makes for a more well-rounded person. Being part of a team is a great segue into life’s challenges of being part of a workforce and getting along with a variety of people.”
When asked why volunteering made sense for her, Pam states simply, “I think people should volunteer in some capacity for what they are passionate about and truly believe in. I believe in Thomas College and all it has to offer!”
Special thanks to the Kriegels for their enthusiasm and support for Thomas College. FMI on volunteering, please contact Director of Alumni Relations Chelsie Pleau ’13 at chelsie.pleau@thomas.edu.
