Ryan Hablitz ’20 is fulfilling his student teaching duties remotely for the rest of the semester, and he’s able to do so thanks to his educator training at Thomas.

Ryan said he’s been participating in zoom meetings with other Messalonskee Middle School staff, creating algebra worksheets, kahoots, picking IXLs for his seventh-grade math students to do at home, and he’s been providing feedback on students’ worksheets.

“My Thomas College education has prepared me for something like this by taking an education computer course, which introduced me to a lot of different online education resources that I can use in this situation. By taking online courses here at Thomas, it gave me some ideas of what assignments I can give to my students that they can do at home,” he said.

Ryan said he is thankful for his Thomas community during this time.

“My education professors from Thomas and my mentor teacher have been wonderful at keeping me updated and keeping me in the loop of things in this unprecedented situation.”
