As Duncan McDougal began his senior year, he knew that it was time to plan for his life after Thomas. At the College’s Career Fair, he learned about a highly competitive opportunity with Bangor Savings Bank in their management trainee program, a paid, 15-month training program. Participants learn about all areas of the banking industry and are guaranteed a management position with Bangor Savings Bank upon completion.
Duncan, a finance and sport management major, had to navigate a challenging application process wherein he competed against countless students from colleges and universities all over the country — all vying for one of the few available program slots. He learned this spring that he had been selected.
“Thomas College put me on the right track and helped to make this happen. I’m very excited for what the future holds — and I’m grateful that I chose to come to Thomas.”

Dr. Dan Leland, one of Duncan’s professors, says, “I could not be happier for Duncan. I have been impressed with the work and leadership he has shown in his finance and economic classes. His confidence and hard-working nature must have been evident. I am sure he will represent Thomas College well. Hopefully this can open the door for other Thomas students to follow!”
Reflecting on the past several months, Duncan adds that, “Thomas College put me on the right track and helped to make this happen. I’m very excited for what the future holds — and I’m grateful that I chose to come to Thomas!”
