Terrier STAR: Mikaela Ziobro Web Director | March 1, 2023

Mikaela Ziobro, Senior Director of Graduate and Professional Studies, is known for strategic thinking, problem solving skills, and dedication to the mission of Thomas College.

Mikaela, an employee of the College for almost 17 years, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for institutional inventiveness.

“To know Mikaela is to know someone who cares deeply about her work, her colleagues, and our students, but above all, someone who serves as a model in living out the mission and values of this College. Every interaction that I have been so fortunate to have with Mikaela is characterized by such a thoughtful investment in the goals and impact of our work, and how the College can best serve our students and our community members,” said a colleague.

“Mikaela is thoughtful, precise, and exceptionally bright, and she is a trusted colleague who others regularly turn to and eagerly collaborate with. Her door is always open, and she brings years of dedicated service in a number of roles across the College that allow her to solve problems with such insight and experience that is truly admirable,” said a coworker. “She knows just the right questions to ask, what data is needed to make the best decision, and models a spirit of innovation in thinking about new approaches and solutions to challenges. She is collaborative in her problem solving, thinks strategically about best practices, and takes the time and care needed to ensure her decisions will benefit all those she is working on behalf of or alongside with.”

As the leader of the Graduate and Professional Studies department, she leads and supports both other staff and students within the program.

“She is such a talented professional and it is a pleasure to have a window into the heart, patience, and empathy she brings to her work.”

Congrats, Mikaela!
