WATERVILLE, October 2016 — Thomas College will host its program-specific open houses this November at its campus in Waterville. The Education program open house will be held on November 15 from 12-4 p.m., and a Criminal Justice and Psychology open house will be held on November 18 from 12-4 p.m.

Prospective students and families will have a chance to hear from and meet with faculty and current students within their specific program of interest. Attendees will also be able to take a campus tour, meet with Admissions, sit in on a class, and learn more about how Thomas can set them on a path to career success. They will also get a taste of the dining center with a free lunch.

“These program-specific open houses give prospective students an inside look at their major of interest. They will learn what types of careers and internships they could experience, what classes will be like, what professors expect, and what current students think of their program,” said Vice President of Enrollment Management Jonathan Kent. “We can’t wait to have them on campus and share in the excitement of Thomas College!”

Thomas College has four concentrations within its education program, and starting in 2015 with the opening of its Center for Innovation in Education, Thomas College is re-envisioning teacher education that supports digital learning, STEAM, and Proficiency-Based Learning in an adaptive environment that reflects a contemporary instructional approach.

With its agreement with the Maine State Police Academy in Vassalboro, Thomas College offers a Criminal Justice program that is hands-on and makes students career ready. The Psychology program is one of the most popular, with the option of a unique Forensic Psychology major as well. Beginning this year, students are also given the option to double-major in Criminal Justice and Psychology without adding more years onto their education.
