WATERVILLE, MAINE, September 2018 — Thomas College is hosting a free screening of the film “Angst”: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety at Thomas College’s Ayotte Auditorium on October 2 at 6 p.m. This special screening is free and open to the public.
“Angst”, an Indie Flix Original Documentary, is a 56-minute film that explores anxiety, its causes, effects, and what we can do about. It features many people of all ages who suffer from anxiety, including Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps.
“Anxiety continues to be the most common struggle that students present with at college counseling centers across the country,” said Thomas College Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Carol Jollotta. “By sharing this film at Thomas College, we are hoping to let students who are struggling know that they are not alone. Additionally, we are hoping that people who don’t have an anxiety disorder will walk away with a better understanding of the experience and be better able to support their friends and loved ones who do struggle.”
