Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

Thomas College invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Career Services, the Assistant Director is responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive alumni relations program designed to connect alumni back to Thomas College. The Assistant Director also works closely with career services staff to connect alumni and businesses with current students; and with development personnel to help identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni donors and prospects to achieve Thomas College’s strategic goals and initiatives.

Working with a broad constituent base that includes alumni, current students, faculty & staff, and other friends of the College, the successful candidate will coordinate engagement events both on campus and off, along with organizing and implementing strategic, committee-based volunteer activities. The Assistant Director manages student workers and interns as needed, collaborates with other faculty and staff of the College, creates and evaluates annual plans, goals, and results within his/her respective area; and serves as a key ambassador and liaison for the College.

Three to four years of previous experience in the field of alumni relations, membership engagement, marketing, communications or public relations essential; experience in advancement, development, fundraising and event planning skills desired. Four-year college degree required. Efficiency with Microsoft Office products and social media platforms preferred.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills, the ability to participate in a team environment, and strong problem-solving skills. Must be a self-starter, deadline driven, and able to adapt and manage multiple and changing priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality a must. Valid driver’s license with successful license and criminal background checks required. Some travel required; the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as necessary, required.

Public Safety Officer

Part-time position
Shifts vary

Thomas College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Public Safety Officer. Officers are responsible for the protection of persons, property, and facilities of the College. This includes performing campus patrols on foot and by vehicle, completing facility security checks as well as response to a variety of incidents and calls for assistance.

Applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to successfully interact with a diverse population in a variety of situations.

This is a per-diem position based on the staffing needs of the department form month to month and does not generally guarantee a set number of hours. Evening, overnight and weekend availability is required as these are typical areas of need.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, EMS or related field strongly preferred.

Custodian

Thomas College is accepting applications to fill a custodian position on the first shift. The position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining specific areas of residence halls and other areas.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows, toilets, showers, and other surfaces. Seasonal duties include snow removal, and summer grounds work, operation of any job related mechanical devices is required.

The present schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Schedules are subject to change when necessary. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. Experience preferred. High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
