Nina Brickett, Controller, is known for her incredible work ethic and high-quality work done under intense time-sensitive deadlines.
Nina, an employee of the College for more than a decade, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for her institutional inventiveness and career focus.
Nina began her career at Thomas in 2013 as a Payroll/Accounts Payable Coordinator and worked her way up to the Controller position – earning two degrees along the way.
“Nina, like a Terrier, is petite, quick, and full of tenacity! Nina strives to learn more, and willingly helps her co-workers with projects. Nina’s a valuable and knowledgeable member of the Financial Affairs Team,” said a colleague.
Nina always steps up when presented with a challenging project.
“Nina’s work was integral to help secure critical pandemic stimulus under tight deadlines. For example, we applied for the Payroll Protection Program within twelve hours; the application was 120 pages of supporting documentation. The funds kept Thomas employees working during those uncertain times,” said the colleague. “Most recently, the College was awarded the Thrive Maine Forgivable Loan Grant, and behind the scenes Nina quickly provided all the financial supporting documentation for the application.”
Nina also teaches Personal Finance and enjoys working with Thomas students. Nina is another Thomas College success and a Terrier Star.
Congrats, Nina!
