Committed Students
Information for Committed Students
Congrats! You submitted your deposit and are now one of our official committed students – a new Thomas Terrier! We are thrilled that you decided to join our close-knit college community! We’ve put some information and resources together to help you on your path to a Promising Future!
New Terrier Orientation September 3-7!
Next Steps for New Students
Completing your Onboarding Checklist officially matriculates you at Thomas College. Get your “myThomas” account established, access the Onboarding menu, and tick off your checklist items. Complete your course preferences and lifestyle questionnaire (so we can match you with a great roommate). Then get ready for New Terrier Orientation!
ONBOARDING CHECKLIST
Official matriculation begins once you access your onboarding checklist.
The checklist becomes available:
- In March for students entering in the fall semester
- In October for students entering in the spring semester
HOUSING CHECKLIST
Your residential status will be activated AFTER you have paid your housing deposit to student financial services, for those students living on-campus.
Housing Agreements will be available in the Onboarding Checklist.
Please read and sign this document electronically.
Placement of new students will begin immediately following the summer pre-registration day in June and letters will be emailed to your Thomas and Personal email address on file with your placement and roommate information. Your date of the Housing Deposit is an important factor considered when filling housing requests.
Once you have access to the Onboarding Checklist, please fill out the Lifestyle Questionnaire as soon as possible so that we can work to match you with a roommate and a residential area that best meets your needs. If you know of another student you would like to live with, you’ll have the option to enter the person’s name on the questionnaire. We do our best to accommodate requests; however, all requests cannot be guaranteed. Please note that in order for us to match you with a requested roommate, both students need to request each other on the questionnaire. All placements are final, and we make every attempt to minimize changes after information is sent to students. If there are changes that need to be made, you will be notified via e-mail or phone.
First-year students are placed in either Grant, Parks, Heath (GPH) or Hinman Residence Halls. Students who are transferring with 30 or more credits will be placed in upper-class residences (Bartlett, Village, Townhouse or GPH Residences) as space is available.
- After being accepted to Thomas, pay your Housing Deposit with the Student Financial Aid Office.
- Complete your Housing Agreement (when available in the Onboarding Checklist).
- Fill out the online Lifestyle Questionnaire (when available in the Onboarding Checklist) ASAP.
- Start reviewing the list of items to bring and to leave at home. (Refrigerators up to 3.1 cubic feet are permitted in the residences. Please do not pack any refrigerators larger than this size.)
- Contact your new roommate by calling or sending them an email. Don’t rely on Facebook or other social media sites to meet your new roommate.
- Get ready for Orientation and check in with the Residential Life staff as needed.
- Start packing — your first semester at Thomas will be here before you know it!

Domestic students may be eligible for a need-based grant as well as state and federal need-based funding. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form as soon as possible.
Be sure to include Thomas College as a recipient of your financial aid information (our Title IV School Code is #002052).
