WATERVILLE, MAINE, March 2026 — Thomas College is proud to announce that Jeff Hubert, of Augusta, Maine, has been named to its Board of Trustees. Hubert is a 1987 graduate of Thomas College and a now-retired 35-year public accountant with Wipfli, LLP.

“Jeff brings a wealth of experience in public accounting and serving his community. His love for his alma mater makes his passion for this board position even stronger,” said Thomas College President Jeannine Diddle Uzzi. “We are excited to welcome Jeff to our group of esteemed board of trustees.”
Hubert, a retired public accountant, spent his entire 35-year career with Wipfli, LLP, including 20 years as partner of the firm. His clients mostly included non-profits, government and commercial manufacturing.
Hubert has been awarded several accolades over the years including the Ray Coniff Memorial Service Award from the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of KV in 2005; Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Co Business Person of the Year Award in 2015; National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals’ Top 10 Public Accounting Professionals Award – Maine in 2015; and Maine Society of CPAs’ “The Giver Award” Volunteerism and Community Service Award in 2020.
Hubert earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Thomas College, and a master’s in taxation and CPA certificate from Bentley College.
“When the opportunity presented itself to join the Thomas College Board of Trustees I didn’t hesitate, it was a chance to give back to the institution that was a significant part of setting me up for a rewarding and successful career in Public Accounting,” said Hubert. “Thirty-nine years later, the journey is coming full circle, I have been connected to Thomas College all along the way; from seeing students enter the Firm through the internship program to hiring entry level staff from the pool of Thomas graduates, not to mention having my son graduate from Thomas in 2014 with an MBA. We can both agree that Thomas provided us with the necessary foundation needed to succeed in today’s business world. My goal is to share my knowledge, skills, and visions gathered over the years to help Thomas College and its students be better prepared for the future.”
Sixty-five percent of the Board of Trustees are alumni of the College. Historically, 73 percent of Thomas College graduates stay in Maine after completing their degree.
