Thomas College Powers Maine’s Future Workforce as JA Titan Host Site

Engaging 90 students from Central Maine for a real-world business experience.

Waterville, Maine, March 2026 — Thomas College, in partnership with Junior Achievement of Maine (JA Maine), is proud to announce its role as one of nine host locations across the state for the JA Titan Challenge.

JA Titan delivers experiential learning that accelerates a student’s economic mobility. Through hands-on learning and exposure to Maine’s businesses and higher education institutions, network building, and STEM-aligned curriculum, JA Titan equips students with the skills, confidence, and connections they need to succeed.

For five weeks, over 300 students across the state will receive business economics training that culminates in a multi-day competition. Mentors from community businesses will join students in their classrooms to teach the fundamentals of leading a company and navigating decisions around R&D, production, marketing, and corporate social responsibility.

Students will apply what they’ve learned in a two-day regional competition held on March 31, 2026 and April 2, 2026 at various host sites with Thomas College being one of them.

As a JA Titan host site, Thomas College provides students with real-world exposure to a college campus and university life, as well as the opportunity to build their networks by collaborating with mentors representing businesses throughout Maine. “Thomas College is honored to serve as the host for this year’s JA Titan Challenge. This competition represents a meaningful opportunity for students to apply critical thinking and business acumen in a hands-on environment. Supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators is at the heart of what we do, and we look forward to seeing the talent and creativity these students bring to the challenge,” said Thomas College Executive Director of Business Innovation and Corporate Campus Nate Pelsma.
