TRIO Student Stays Focus on Goals MacKenzie Riley Young | May 1, 2020

Mai Alicea ’21 has almost completed her first year at Thomas College studying psychology in our accelerated degree program, and she’s already experienced so much here.

“Thomas College has provided me with many opportunities to further my knowledge, leadership skills, interests and hobbies, and my ability to set and accomplish goals,” she said.

Being a part of the TRIO program has really helped Mai with creating and sticking to her goals.

“I like how TRIO staff are very focused on all of their students and take the time to get to us personally and push us academically.”

As a member of JMG, Mai is able to get involved on campus.

“I love how JMG provides so many opportunities to volunteer, get involved on campus, and how they have such an awareness and are very knowledgeable about the work place and tools and skills that are related.”

Right now during remote learning, Mai said she is continuing to focus on the goals she at the beginning of the semester. She said it helps to keep an eye on achieving to reach her future dreams – and to take some time for herself.
