Diversity Week

February 16 - 20, 2026

Thomas College is excited to be hosting a Diversity Week for everyone on campus.

This week is a time designated for the Thomas College community to learn, to share, and to celebrate. It is an opportunity to foster a culture of student success and belonging, ensuring that all students have the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Tuesday, 2/17 –

  • Chinese New Year Themed Lunch by Sodexo in the Dining Center
  • Making Lanterns with the Art Club! 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Fireplace Room

Wednesday, 2/18 – 

Open to D.E.I. – with the Service Desk:  2-3pm in AL136.

  • Integration through Public Domain, Open Access, and Open Educational Resources; from slave narratives to open textbooks, open resources can help improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • How to find content and how to make use of them, even how to adapt/remix or create open content.

Active Minds A.S.K. Event: 7pm in the Summit Room.

A.S.K. stands for Acknowledge, support, and keep in touch. Learn how to support people in your community in everyday conversations.

Thursday, 2/19 – 

InhuMAINE: 6pm in the Auditorium.

  • InhuMAINE is a powerful, unflinching documentary filmed over the course of one year, exploring the harsh realities of homelessness in Bangor, Maine. InhuMaine goes beyond the statistics to reveal the humanity behind the crisis.
  • Join us for a viewing of the documentary and then a Q&A following with the film maker. 

Friday, 2/20 – 

Soul Food Theme Dinner & Cultural Experience – with Sodexo and International Club: 4:45-6:30pm in the Summit Room.

  • Join us for soul food in the dining center, then enjoy student-made cultural food samples, music, drumming, and more in the Summit Room!
