If you anticipate barriers to access or would like to request an accommodation related to any of the planned Commencement Weekend events, please complete the Commencement Accessibility Request Form no later than Friday May 1, 2026.

Please note: to ensure access, accommodations must be requested in advance. Some requests may require additional documentation.

If you have any additional questions regarding the accessibility of this event, or would like to speak with someone regarding your accommodation request, please contact Lexie Hinners-Mucci, Associate Director of Disability Services & Student Support or call 207-859-1169

Ceremony exercises will take place on the ground level of the Alfond Athletic Center. Seating is provided in rows of sturdy plastic folding chairs. Limited accessible seating is available within the venue and reserved for those that have completed the Commencement Accessibility Request Form and have received confirmation notification of reserved accessible seating. Based on availability, limitations may be placed on the number of companions within the accessible seating area.

Closed captioning will be available for those who utilize the Ayotte Auditorium to watch a livestream of the Commencement ceremonies.

To request accommodations related to a hearing barrier, please complete the Commencement Accessibility Request Form no later than Friday, May 1, 2026.

The Commencement ceremony will be lived streamed in the Ayotte Auditorium, located across from the North Parking Lot. The Ayotte Auditorium is an air-conditioned room featuring theater style seating with room for mobility devices at the back of the venue. Lighting will be dimmed once the live stream begins.

Guests who wish to utilize this venue to watch the ceremony that need direction assistance should notify a staff member or usher at time of arrival.

Service animals are welcome. We ask that you notify the college regarding your plan to utilize your service animal through the Commencement Accessibility Request Form.

Reserved Accessible parking spaces are available in the North Lot for guests who have requested and been approved for accommodations through the Commencement Accessibility Request Form. Guests must also display a state-issued accessible parking placard upon arrival.

If you have not requested accessible parking in advance and are a guest with mobility barriers and/or a state-issued accessible parking placard, accessible parking spots are available in all additional general parking lots farther from the venue. Volunteer-operated golf carts will be available to provide transportation between parking areas and the Alfond Athletic Center. Please see our campus parking map.

Accessible restrooms are located on both the ground floor and the main floor of the Alfond Athletic Center.

The ground floor features gendered multi-stall locker room style restrooms with one accessible stall and sinks in each. The main floor features an individual locking restroom that is accessible via an elevator from the ground floor.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available to transport guests with mobility barrier from the entrance of the Alfond Athletic Center to a seat within the venue. Volunteers will escort guests to their seats and return the wheelchair for the use of other guests. Upon arrival, please ask any usher for assistance.

If you are in need of accessible seating as well or plan to view the ceremony from the Ayotte Auditorium, please complete the Commencement Accessibility Request Form.
