Financial Aid Appeal
Submit an Appeal of Financial Aid
If you feel that the financial aid package awarded to you is not sufficient, you may make a financial aid appeal for additional aid. Please complete the form below and be specific in justification of your request.
This type of appeal is a formal, documented request asking a college financial aid office to reconsider a student’s eligibility for aid due to special circumstances, such as job loss, high medical bills, or, in some cases, to reinstate aid lost for not meeting academic requirements. Also known as a “special circumstances appeal,” this process requires a letter and supporting documents to justify a change in the aid award.
Before proceeding with an appeal request, please read this Professional Judgement Disclosure.
Fill out the form below if you would like to request an appeal of your aid award. Please include as much detail as possible so we can accurately assess your request in a timely fashion.
If your appeal is due to a comparison of your aid offers from other colleges, please upload a copy of those other offer letters in the form below.
The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) has helpful information regarding how to appeal your financial aid office.
Disclaimer: Thomas College does not consider athletic ability, participation, or contributions to athletic programs when awarding or adjusting financial aid. These financial appeals focus only on documented changes in financial circumstances or other relevant factors, rather than participation in athletics or other extracurricular activities. Requests should not include information related to athletics. Financial aid appeals referencing athletic participation may be returned for revision or denied.
