There is not a specific deadline for submitting your FAFSA form. You can file at any time and update it when needed.

The recommended deadline to file your FAFSA is February 15. There may be deadlines associated with specific types of financial aid, such as state grants, so be sure to submit your information as early as possible. The later you complete your paperwork, the less aid you may qualify to receive.

Yes! You can use our net price calculator as a guide to assist with early financial planning for college. This calculator will provide a preliminary estimate of federal, state, and institutional aid eligibility, to help you gauge what aid you may be awarded and make arrangements to cover the cost of attendance.

You visit our payment information page for options. Payments can be made online, by mail, by calling 207-859-1421, or you can visit Student Financial Services at office AD-104A in the Ayotte Administrative Building and make a payment in person.

If you need to make a deposit as a new student (Congratulations! Welcome to Thomas!), that can be done online. If your transaction is declined for any reason, please do not resubmit your payment via the online portal. Call Student Financial Services at 207-859-1112 for assistance.

All day students are charged student insurance and yearbooks, unless a waiver form is completed and returned to the SFS Office. The deadline for the waiver form is September 30th.

All Thomas College Students must have a US-Based Affordable Care Act ACA compliant insurance plan. If students would like to waive the Thomas College insurance plan they need to make sure that the plan they have is ACA compliant. Students must provide a copy of their current insurance card before Thomas student insurance is waived.

New accepted students, who receive an email concerning verification, receive estimated aid awards based upon the results of their FAFSA. In order to receive an actual award, you will need to submit a verification worksheet, federal tax returns and W-2 forms.

If you have encountered special circumstances such as job loss, high medical bills, or, in some cases, to reinstate aid lost for not meeting academic requirements, you may fill out our financial aid appeal form. Please be prepared to provide supporting documents.

After you have filed your FAFSA, it takes between 2 and 6 weeks for your information to be sent to Thomas College. Financial aid awards for new accepted students are mailed in mid-December. Additional financial aid awards will be processed every two weeks.

Full-time is 12 or more credits per semester.

Federal Direct Loan amounts are based upon grade level. A student’s federal financial need will determine if the Federal Direct Loan is subsidized or unsubsidized.

Yes, you may choose to decline all or part of the loan. You are not obligated to accept any loans you do not want. However, rejecting a federal loan does not mean that it will be replaced with grant or scholarship funds.
