Jamie Campbell, associate professor of accounting, grew up in Bangor, Maine. He started teaching at 26-years-old as a part-time accounting teacher at Husson, while working as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). For twenty years as a CPA, his job required lots of hours at work and was a demanding profession. He wanted to pursue a less time demanding career path, in order to spend more time with his family.
He decided on teaching and began working full-time as an accounting professor at Thomas College, where he has been teaching for the last 13 years.

“The rest is history, I’ll never do another job as long as I live. This is what I like doing,” said Professor Campbell.
Campbell is known for his supportive nature and engaging classes.
“Over the years I had a lot of good teachers, I picked what I liked from each one of them and I try to incorporate all of that,” said Professor Jamie Campbell.
Outside of teaching Professor Campbell is a big sports fan. Playing baseball in college, Campbell was a pitcher, designated hitter, and an outfielder, batting .396 his senior year. Now he umpires for adult softball leagues as well officiating basketball games in his spare time.
“I like the community, family atmosphere at Thomas College, and the fact that there aren’t 50,000 people running around here. I can know every one of my students, I get to know them all and it develops friendships for later in life,” says Jamie Campbell.
