WATERVILLE, MAINE, December 2024 — Thomas College is proud to announce its youngest member joins its board of trustees, 28-year-old and alumna of the College, Shelby Watson. Watson, originally from Skowhegan, Maine, is an Account Executive for J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print.

“Shelby Watson’s connections to Thomas College are strong and deep. She comes to the Board highly recommended, and she has long been a leader among her peers,” said Thomas College President Dr. Jeannine Diddle Uzzi. “As a 2016 and 2017 alumna, Shelby brings a new perspective to the Board, and she can help Thomas College open new doors and envision the future of higher education. I am exceedingly grateful for Shelby’s dedication and commitment to her alma mater and look forward to working with her in the coming years.”
“From the moment I first set foot on campus as a student 10 years ago, I’ve felt a deep sense of belonging at Thomas College. Joining the Board of Trustees feels like coming home in a new and especially meaningful way, and it will be the honor of a lifetime to serve Thomas College’s students and help shape the future of one of my favorite places,” said Watson.
Watson works as an Account Executive for J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print, where she has been a key team member since 2018. She began as the company’s first Inside Sales Representative and later supported production operations during the pandemic. Watson partners with non-profit organizations, as well as startups and international brands to bring their marketing and packaging visions to life on paper, leveraging her deep understanding of production processes to deliver tailored solutions.
Shelby Watson holds both a bachelor’s degree in management and an MBA from Thomas College and was among the first graduates in the College’s 3+1 program. Her time as a student helped her develop a passion for leadership and community engagement and she has enjoyed being an alumni ambassador for Thomas College’s Day of Giving since completing her degrees.
In addition to her work at J.S. McCarthy, Watson works as the Producer of L.L. Bean’s Summer in the Park concert series, coordinating performances by national and international artists.
Watson resides in Auburn and enjoys attending concerts, skiing, yoga, and playing adult league soccer.
