Thomas College provides peer tutoring at no cost to current students in a variety of subjects, including accounting, computer science, economics, finance, history, management, marketing, math, political science, psychology, science, & writing.
Peer tutors are carefully selected and trained to provided student-centered assistance to students in individual and small-group tutoring sessions. Peer tutors focus on academic skills and goal-setting with students to facilitate active learning. Our program is nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
Peer Tutors are available for virtual and in-person drop-in hours and appointments. To join a tutor for their virtual drop-in hours, click on the linked time in their schedule below. Brendan Curran (Computer Science)
Brendan is from Houlton, ME and is in his senior year of a Computer Science major. He likes nature, programming, and helping out other students. He is excited to start tutoring!
Matthew Thebarge (Math, Computer Science)
Matthew is from Mechanic Falls, Maine and is a Forensic Accounting major. He is a huge Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and the Patriots, and loves playing sports as well. He can’t wait to work with students!
Stephen Gray (Math, Education)
Stephen is in his second year from Turner, Maine. Stephen is studying secondary education for math. He will be tutoring math and education. Stephen is also a member of the track team and is looking forward to beginning his education work by assisting his fellow Thomas students.
Katriana Pratt (Business)
Katriana (Kat) is from Poland, ME and is a junior studying Sport Management. She is a member of the Soccer team as well as SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee). She is very excited to be a Business tutor and help her fellow peers!
Maddie Rock (Psychology, Political Science)
Maddie is a second-year student from Bridgton, Maine. She is a Psychology and Political Science double major and is so excited to be the Psychology tutor! Maddie is also a part of the Softball and Soccer teams, the Student Philanthropy Team, and the Psychology Club. She is looking forward to meeting and helping new people!
Jessica Jensen (Science, Writing)
Jess is a second-year student from Naples, ME who will be tutoring science and writing this year. She is also a sprinter on Thomas College track team. She is still discerning her plans after college, but enjoys the idea of working with children. She is very excited to be able to help her fellow students!
Gabe Crosby (Writing, Education)
Gabe is from Poland, ME and studies Elementary Education. He is a member of the Indoor Track and Baseball teams, loves the outdoors, but also enjoys sitting on the couch and reading a good book. He is excited to start tutoring!
Liz Sanborn (Accounting)
Liz is a second-year Accounting & Finance double major from Hebron, Maine. She is part of the Accounting Society and is also an assistant insurance agent. She is so excited to meeting and helping her fellow peers!
