Thomas College provides peer tutoring at no cost to current students in a variety of subjects, including accounting, computer science, economics, finance, history, management, marketing, math, political science, psychology, science, & writing.
Peer tutors are carefully selected and trained to provided student-centered assistance to students in individual and small-group tutoring sessions. Peer tutors focus on academic skills and goal-setting with students to facilitate active learning. Our program is nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
Peer Tutors are available for virtual drop-in hours or appointments for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. See below for more information about how to arrange a tutoring session or email Sarah Mills, the Peer Tutoring Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Virtual drop-in hours: Tutors are available for designated hours (see below). Contact the tutor through email or Micrsooft Teams to start a tutoring session. Tutoring sessions take place via Teams. Other appointment times can be arranged with the tutor through email.
- By Appointment: Tutoring sessions are arranged with the tutor through email and will take place on Microsoft Teams. Tutors will check their email regularly and reply within 24 hours.

Sean Adams (Accounting)
Sean is from Bangor, Maine and is an accounting major. He plays sports, video games, and is a huge soccer fan. If you bring up Liverpool FC you are automatically one of his friends. Sean can’t wait to help the community as a peer tutor!

Matthew Thebarge (Computer Science, Math)
Matthew is from Mechanic Falls, Maine and is a cybersecurity major. He is a huge Boston sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and the Patriots, and loves playing sports as well. Matthew works as a RA in Heath Hall. He can’t wait to work with students!

Kelsie Jardine (Education, Math, Praxis 1)
Kelsie is from Lyndonville, VT and studies Secondary Education-Math. She enjoys journaling, drinking coffee, and watching Friends on Netflix. She is excited to tutor students in math and in preparing for Praxis 1!

Alexis Bowman (Business)
Alexis is in her second year at Thomas College and is studying Sport Management. She is a Kiest-Morgan Scholar and also plays on the field hockey team. Alexis enjoys skiing, hiking, and playing guitar. She looks forward to her first year as a tutor!

Shylyn Buckman (Psychology & Anatomy/Physiology)
Shylyn (Shy) is from Bethel, ME and studies Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health. When Shy is not in class, she is most likely working, being an “extremely amateur” artist, or hanging out with her dog. She is excited to return as a tutor this year!

Arynne is a third-year student studying Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice. She enjoys reading, dancing, and spending quality time with loved ones. She is excited to tutor students again this year!
