Darren Forkey, the Events and Conference Services Assistant, is known for his caring nature, work ethic, and commitment.
Darren, a full-time employee for almost three years and a part-time employee for six years before that, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for his career focus, his care, and his sense of community.

“Darren Forkey greets every person on campus with a smile. He is willing to drop everything and lend a hand to a fellow colleague at a moment’s notice and is an incredible asset to the institution,” said a coworker.
“Darren has zeal for our campus. He works hard to connect with folks on campus and is dedicated to his job. Most importantly, he brings a positive energy with him everywhere he goes,” said another colleague.
“Darren is definitely one of the most personable, kind, and helpful individuals on this campus. He takes the time to understand the question or task at hand and offers help or input that is effective and catered to the specific department or area of need,” said a fellow colleague.
“It is clear to anyone that Darren Forkey puts his all into every event/conference that he helps bring to campus. He is always the first one to show up and welcome people, make sure all the signs are where they need to be, and prepping every detail so that the event goes smoothly. I am certain that outside groups renting campus have a positive view of Thomas when they leave because of Darren’s friendly personality and dedication to giving them a good experience,” said a colleague. “More than anything, I have never heard him say a single negative thing about Thomas College or his work here. His commitment to Thomas is second to none and his love and passion for this place shows in everything he does.”
Congrats, Darren!
