Terrier STAR: Mackenzie Osborne

Mackenzie Osborne, Assistant Director of Donor Engagement, is known for her attention to detail and hard work ethic.

Mackenzie, an employee of the College for two years, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for her institutional inventiveness.

She has overseen Homecoming and Family Weekend for the past three years and was successful in collaborating with different groups and clubs on and off campus to ensure each is being highlighted throughout the weekend and that students, community members, donors and alumni feel welcomed.

Last year, Mackenzie organized and managed the Presidential Inauguration for Jeannine which included three different events across campus, the inauguration itself, the cupcakes and champaign toast and the murder mystery dinner. More than 500 people came onto campus for the celebration, and she led the entire effort. A few weeks after the Inauguration, she oversaw the retirement party for Laurie that had almost 200 people in attendance, including some of the biggest philanthropists in the State and some of our key community partners.

“She works tirelessly to advocate for Thomas and often brings in sponsors and donors because of conversations that she has outside of work.  She is an incredible member of the Advancement team and the Thomas community,” said a senior colleague.

“Mackenzie is the definition of a team player; she works so hard to ensure our department does its best! She is always eager to learn and problem solve, which makes her key to Thomas’ success. I’m lucky enough to call her a coworker and friend!” said a coworker.

“She has put on some of the best events Thomas and I have ever seen. No detail is too small for her,” said another colleague.

“Mackenzie is a stellar example of a successful young professional. Her colleagues are fortunate to work with someone so cheerful, energetic, and consistently full of fresh ideas, not to mention excellent book recommendations. She is deeply committed to the Thomas community and is known for successfully hosting outstanding events that engage both students and alumni while advancing the mission of the college,” said a coworker.

Congrats, Mackenzie!
