Sydney Plourde, Assistant Director of Financial Aid, is known for her supportive nature and dedication to Thomas College.
Sydney, an employee of the College for more than two years, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for her career focus and care and community.
“Sydney Plourde is truly one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Her dedication and work ethic are inspiring as she balances her demanding workload while continuing her education. What makes Sydney stand out is that she consistently puts others before herself, always stepping up to help students and colleagues alike whenever they need support. If you don’t know Sydney yet, you’re missing out on knowing someone truly special. She’s full of surprises and always brings positivity and warmth to every interaction,” said a colleague.
“Sydney is a great contributor to the SFS team. Even with her busy schedule between work and going to school to obtain her Ed.D. she always finds time to support her co-workers when needed. She is kind, understanding and supportive of the students and their families. She exemplifies the mission and vision of Thomas College,” said a senior colleague.
“Sydney Plourde has a definite ‘can-do’ attitude and brings a wonderful blend of professionalism, compassion, and diligence to her work each day. As a former RA and student-athlete, Sydney developed teamwork, patience, and communication skills. She doesn’t shy away from challenges and is always open to learning. It is these skills that make her effective working with students and families within the world of financial aid,” said a colleague.
