International Students on campus

International Graduate Admissions FAQ

Getting Started

We are unable to offer admission to international students for online degree programs (except for residents of Bermuda).  Thomas offers one in-person MBA program which is open to all students who have completed a bachelor's degree in a business related field. The in-person Master of Business Administration program provides students with intensive specialized management education in a wide range of subjects designed to expose students to theoretical and applied business scenarios. A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required for admittance due to the accelerated nature of this in-person program.

To help ensure that a student has the foundational business knowledge necessary to succeed in the program, applicants are encouraged to have competency in statistics, economics, and accounting demonstrated by earning a “C” or better in those courses or related experience. Applicants without coursework in each of these subject areas or direct work experience in these fields may not be eligible for admission

The in-person MBA program has two entry terms per year, including a Fall entry term each August and a Spring entry term each January.

Thomas College offers rolling admission for both the Fall and Spring entry terms. The application deadline for Fall entry is mid-June each year, and the application deadline for Spring entry is mid-November each year. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible to accommodate international VISA or I-20 processing deadlines.

Thomas College does not require that a student hold a specific undergraduate business degree in order to be eligible for admission, but the in-person MBA program expects students to have completed previous coursework in either business or a STEM field. To help ensure that a student has the foundational business knowledge necessary to succeed in the program, applicants are encouraged to have competency in statistics, economics, and accounting demonstrated by earning a “C” or better in those courses or related experience. Application Materials

No, the online application is free.

Thomas College requires international transcripts to be evaluated by our transcript review partner, SpanTran. Applicants must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions previously attended through the Thomas College SpanTranportal. The cost of a SpanTranevaluation will be deducted from your tuition if you are accepted and attend Thomas College.

However, before you pursue the cost of a formal transcript evaluation, if you would like to have a preliminary transcript analysis conducted by our office to see if you have completed the prerequisite coursework expected for admission, you can email an unofficial copy of your transcripts to [email protected] and request that an admissions counselor complete a preliminary review.

Letters of reference can be requested from individuals who you feel are best suited to speak to your ability to succeed in a graduate program. In the application portal, you will be asked to enter the name and contact information for two professional references. This will send an automated email with a personalized upload link directly to your references where they can upload their letter and complete this required step. Recommendations can be submitted by employers, mentors, professors, or college advisors.

Thomas College does not require entrance exams as part of the admissions process, such as the GRE or GMAT. Students will be asked to produce test scores to demonstrate English language proficiency in one of the following ways if English was not the medium of instruction at a student’s undergraduate institution. If English was the medium of instruction used in your undergraduate studies, this requirement can be waived.

Accepted English Language Proficiency Scores:

TOEFL 72
IELTS 5.5
Duolingo 105

No, Thomas does not require an interview as part of the admissions process.

Finances & Scholarships

Applicants can review the Tuition & Fees webpage for information about the total cost of attendance for the in-person MBA program.

All students applying for in-person graduate programs with plans to live on-campus are considered for resident merit scholarships ranging from $14,000 - $18,000, depending on your undergraduate GPA. Every applicant for the on-campus program is automatically considered for any available resident merit scholarships and there is no additional application required.

Applicants are not required to live on campus to participate in the in-person MBA program, however, the College cannot provide any assistance to students in searching for or securing off campus housing.

The Declaration of Finance form is the last application material a student needs to submit before their application is complete. Our team will email applicants the Declaration of Finance form upon the successful completion of a SpanTran evaluation and help offer support for next steps at that time.
