Information for Graduating Students

Commencement at Thomas College is a joyous celebration of the achievements of our graduating students. The festivities spans two days starts with Honors Convocation and Senior Class Dinner and finishes triumphantly in our time-honored commencement ceremony.

Cap & Gown Pick-up

Caps and gowns will be available for pickup in the Registrar’s office prior to Commencement Weekend.

You will be notified when your cap and gown are available for pick-up.

Rehearsal for Students

Rehearsal for students is scheduled for Friday, May 15, at 1:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Ayotte Building at the Welcome Center next to Admissions and the Mail Room. Graduate Division students should bring their hoods to rehearsal. A cap and gown are not required for rehearsal.

Class of 2026 Dinner

The Class of 2026 Dinner for all graduates and their guests will be held Friday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Spann Student Commons.

 Please Note: Seating for dinner is limited and pre-registration is required.

Honors Convocation

Honors Convocation is scheduled for Friday, May 15, at 4:00 p.m. in the Alfond Athletic Center.

Eligible students and their families will be invited to participate in Honors Convocation via email in late April.

At the Honors Convocation, the College will recognize the following graduates:

  • Undergraduate students with honors (students with a final cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher)
  • Members of Alpha Chi
  • Veterans, both undergraduate and graduate
  • The Thomas Scholar, the undergraduate student(s) graduating this year with the highest cumulative GPA
  • Class Speakers and Class Marshals
  • Faculty Award Recipients

Commencement

Commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the Harold Alfond Athletic Center. All graduates must be present in cap and gown to line up at 12 p.m. Please register in the gym lobby. The procession will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Seating in the field house is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The field house will be open to the public beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. The ceremony will also be streamed live via the Thomas website.

Immediately following graduation, there will be a reception on the Ayotte Auditorium lawn. Commencement photos will be available from Central Maine Photography approximately two weeks after graduation.
