Thomas College Hosts Accounting Firm Night
Last week, Thomas College’s Professional and Career Development Office hosted an event featuring several local accounting firms who visited campus to connect with and speak to students.
Each accounting firm provided a brief presentation for the 40 students in attendance to introduce their organization, share career opportunities, and provide students with an overview of their work.

Participants from the following firms were in attendance: Baker Newman Noyes, One River CPAs, Albin, Randall & Bennett, Wipfli, Austin Associates, BerryDunn, and Otis Atwell.
Following the presentations, companies transitioned to their individual tables where students were able to speak one-on-one with organizations, ask questions, and network.
“Accounting Firms Night is more than connecting students with employers, it is about giving students a space to practice networking, build confidence, and learn how to turn a simple conversation into a professional relationship,” said Suheir Alaskari, Director of Professional and Career Development. “Our goal is to coach students so they feel prepared to walk into any room, introduce themselves, ask meaningful questions, and create connections that can open doors throughout their careers.”
After the event, participating professionals stayed for dinner with long-time accounting professor Jamie Campbell.
“It was a pleasure to welcome CPA firms, including several alumni, to our inaugural Firm Night at Thomas College. It was a tremendous success with several students already mentioning how much they enjoyed the event,” said Jamie.
“We are incredibly grateful for all our employer and community partners who continue to support Professional and Career Development at Thomas College and, most importantly, our students and our accounting faculty members. And a special shout-out to our Thomas College alumni who continue to come back, give their time, share their experiences, and help create opportunities for the next generation of students,” said Suheir.
This event is made possible through donor support of the Thomas Fund, the unrestricted annual fund that provides resources to advance the College’s essential work.
