Mariena Bragg, Social Media Specialist, is known for her attention to detail, relationship building, and work ethic.
Mariena, an employee of the College for four years, is being recognized as this month’s Terrier STAR for providing a personalized experience, her career focus, her institutional inventiveness, her care, and her sense of community.

“Mariena’s thoroughness, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond for the Thomas College brand shine through in everything she does. Mariena provides content for all our social media, including working on call to respond to any immediate updates that need to be made to how our brand is perceived by the general public, donors, and Thomas alumni networks. She also spearheaded and created a training program for ADA compliance one year before guidelines are put into place by the federal government, demonstrating a crucial level of forethought and responsibility.”

She’s been a great partner coordinating her student workers to make sure we get photos of key student events. She’s always open to ideas, creative thinking outside-the-box, and willing to help when asked; qualities she possessed as both a student and employee. And I appreciate her candor and great sense of humor!”

I often see her at events, celebrations, and even popping in and out of classrooms when asked so she can help spread the word about what’s going on at Thomas.”

“Thomas College is so fortunate to have one of our best alums working right here with us over the past few years. Mariena earned her marketing degree here back in 2019. She then went out into the world and put her degree to work at Maine Technology Group and Pineview Homes, before returning to earn a master’s degree at Thomas as well. I love the way she has engaged with faculty, first with the Admissions team and now in her role as a social media specialist. My colleagues agree – we think the world of our newest Terrier Star!” said a professor.

“Mariena took on the role of teaching herself the new ADA compliance regulations for social media, implementing it for the main channel accounts, and then teaching others across campus for other department accounts. This is something well outside of her job description, but she did it with care for the institution to make sure we are following federal regulations and not costing the College money. Mariena is also a dedicated student employee supervisor. She supervises several student employees every year and her employees regularly feel supported and cared for while being held accountable and learning critical workplace skills ahead of graduating from College.”
From a student employee: “Working with Mariena has been such a great experience, and I’m grateful that I’ve had the chance to work with her for the past two academic years. She is supportive, approachable, and always willing to help me grow. One thing I really appreciate is that she gives me the freedom to be creative while still being there to guide me when I need it. Because of her, I’ve had the chance to try different things within marketing, from writing and editing to interviewing and working on different projects. I’ve enjoyed working with her so much that I’ve continued working with the Marketing Department each academic year. I’m truly grateful for everything she has taught me and for the trust and opportunities she has given me.”
