WATERVILLE, MAINE, February 2023— Thomas College is proud to announce it has been awarded a nearly $2 million dollar grant from the State of Maine to promote workforce development and degree attainment in specific fields within Maine’s Economic Development Plan.
Thomas College will use the funds to help make college affordable, especially for students who are Pell-eligible or low income. Funds will support both graduate and undergraduate students in high demand fields like Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Education, Criminal Justice, and Psychology.
This grant provides scholarship assistance as well as laptops and travel funds to make college affordable.
“Thomas College focuses on Maine students and students of promise,” said Thomas College Provost Thomas Edwards. “We want our students to have what they need to be successful. This grant supports our students in career fields that in turn help support the economic future of the state of Maine.”
