The Thomas College Office of Professional and Career Development is hosting Career Readiness Week, October 17 – 21, 2022. Each day there will be events happening around campus that are designed to prepare students for their promising futures.
On Monday, October 17, the week will be kicked off with a presentation in partnership with MRBN (Maine Resilience Building Network) about stress management in the workplace, taking place in the Center for Innovation in Education from 12:15 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Later in the afternoon, from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Nicole Lazure will be hosting a stress relief yoga class in the Harold Alfond Athletic Center.
On Tuesday October 18, Cole Leclerc ’23 will be doing a presentation called “Finding Comfort in Public Speaking” from 12:15 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Berry Dunn Student Senate Room. In the evening, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., the Portland Police Department will be on campus for diner and a discussion panel in the Summit Room.
On Wednesday, October 19 the Professional and Career Development office will be hosting a resume clinic in the Commons from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring their updated resumes and get ready for a round of edits!
On Thursday, October 20th, The Professional and Career Development office will be partnering with Amy Gingras for a LinkedIn and Professional Headshot Workshop. At this event students will learn about the importance of LinkedIn and will have an opportunity to build their profiles with the help of trained staff. Students will also be given the opportunity to sign up for a professional headshot clinic.
On Friday, October 21, the week wraps up with “Breakfast and Badging” in the Summit Room from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Students are encouraged to attend to learn more about our professional badging program.
